Handwritten death records of Jogwad's Muslim community, maintained since 1965 and digitised for future generations. Pre-1965 records have been recovered from cemetery gravestones and community contributions.
Find death records easily by name, year, surname, cemetery, grave line, or location using advanced search and filtering options.
Includes records of Jogwad and Chitali residents buried locally, as well as community members who passed away outside the village or abroad. Missing or incorrect records can be reported via contact.
The formal recording of death records for Jogwad's Muslim community began in 1965. From 1965 to 1984, Saleh Hasan Makda (Tanki) took on this responsibility, though his records were not always consistent — some deaths were documented while others were missed, as entries were made irregularly.
In 1984, Mol. Mahmadiqbal Gulam Desai took over this responsibility at the young age of 15. From that point onwards, not a single death record of Jogwad and Chitali residents buried in Jogwad has been missed. He maintained a handwritten register, carefully noting every essential detail of the deceased, including: Name of the deceased, Date and Islamic date of death, Time of death, Burial time, Relatives of the deceased, Grave location and grave number (line-wise), Cemetery name, Namaz-e-Janazah lead Imam's name, and any additional grave-related notes.
The records on this website also include deaths from before 1965, dating as far back as 1935. These earlier records were not part of the original handwritten register. They were recovered by Aezaz Desai through personal visits to the cemeteries of Jogwad, where he read and noted inscriptions from grave nameplates. Additional records were contributed by community members for individuals from Jogwad and Chitali who passed away and were buried outside Jogwad — these deaths were not part of Mol. Mahmadiqbal Gulam Desai's register, as his records cover only those buried within Jogwad.
For years, people from Jogwad and Chitali would visit Mol. Mahmadiqbal Gulam Desai to gather information about their deceased relatives. Recognising the importance of preserving and making this historical record more accessible, his son, Aezaz Desai, took the initiative to digitise these records.
In 2015, with the support of his father and mother, Aezaz began uploading the records online using Jogwad's Blogger platform. Then, in 2025, he developed this dedicated website, structuring the records in a well-organised format with search and filter options to help users easily find details about graves and deceased individuals.
This website also includes records of Jogwad and Chitali community members who passed away outside the village or abroad. These records were contributed by family members and community contacts who wished to have their loved ones' details preserved on this platform.
This page provides a comprehensive collection of death records of Jogwad's Muslim community, including those buried locally, those from nearby areas, and those who migrated abroad. If you wish to add a deceased relative's record, please contact Aezaz Desai for assistance.

He also ran a boys’ madrasa in Manekpore Gadat and a girls’ madrasa in Harangam, leaving behind a lasting legacy of knowledge and service.

Although he wished to be buried in Jogwad, his son decided to bury him in his hometown Nasirpuri.
